The CCRI has welcomed this week Eloise Fresnay, who has come to work in the CCRI as the 2016/17 Placement Student for 11 months.
Eloise is studying for her Masters degree at AgroParisTech, Paris, which is a higher education teaching and research institute (’Grande Ecole’) in the fields of agronomic sciences and techniques, the agri-food sector, forestry, management of spaces and natural resources and land management and development.
Eloise is currently studying agricultural systems in France, animal production, plant and crop production, economy, statistics and the food industry.
When Eloise returns to AgroParisTech to complete her final year (2017/18), she will be specializing in rural development or political sciences for the environment and agriculture or sustainable animal production.
“I come from a rural city close to Rennes, in Brittany, France. I have always been interested in agriculture, animal production and the environment. In the future, I would like to work in sustainable agriculture and in particular the transition between intensive agriculture to organic or agro-ecological production. I worked in organic goat breeding in the Pyrenean mountains last year and in an organic free-range turkey breeding in Devon in 2013.
I have high expectations for my student placement at the CCRI, learning about UK agriculture and politics, being involved in important and interesting projects, meeting many actors and stakeholders in the agricultural world, as well as improving my autonomy and my English skills. On the other hand, I hope my contribution, my knowledge and my French point of view will be useful to the CCRI.”
We wish Eloise the best of luck for her stay in the CCRI and her future studies.
