The CCRI at the University of Gloucestershire is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to support a range of high-profile projects to evaluate rural change and rural policy. 

A significant element in the role will be to support the organisation and successful delivery of two specific research projects in 2021: a pan-European evaluation of the LEADER approach and its contribution to balanced territorial development in the 2014-2020 period; and a study for Defra to better understand contemporary rural communities and economies and their needs, in England, in the current context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, the post will support the delivery of other existing and new contract and grant funded research projects and contribute to the wider work of the Institute, in research, associated teaching, communication and dissemination. 

The post offers a great opportunity for the successful candidate to develop applied research skills and knowledge in a supportive team environment, working for influential project sponsors over a clearly-defined one-year period. It requires a good knowledge of quantitative and qualitative social science research methods, as well as sound organisational skills and the ability to adapt rapidly to new challenges and opportunities. The successful candidate will outstanding skill level using Word to create complex formatted documents from multiple forms of content.
