Nikki’s work is focused on agroecological transitions, understanding farmers’ cultural identities and social practices to enable mixed farming futures. She runs Grampian Graziers with her husband, farming native breed beef cattle on other people’s land, using the cattle as ecological engineers to promote ecological functioning and biodiversity gains.
