Julie Ingram and Jane Mills are co-hosting a session on soil carbon management for sustaining agricultural productivity at the forthcoming 2nd Global Soil Week 2013 “Losing Ground?” The event runs from Monday, 28 October 2013 until Thursday 31 October in Berlin and is organised by the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) / Global Soil Forum. As part of the current ‘SmartSOIL‘ project Julie, Jane and myself (Nick Lewis) recently spent an afternoon filming a farmer who has been actively involved in improving his soil and focussing upon soil carbon management. It was a new area for all CCRI staff, and numerous challenges were faced on the day – primarily strong winds – which made getting good quality audio a considerable problem! The videos have been reached the final edit stage, and once approved, will be available to view online.
