RISK MANAGEMENT IN AGRICULTURE: AN OVERVIEW OF EU POLICIES AND IMPACT ON FARM PRODUCTIVITY

10/09/2015 at 12:15 - 13:15

CCRI Seminar presentation by CCRI Senior Research Fellow, Dr Mauro Vigani.

Mauro joined the CCRI in 2015. He was previously a researcher at the European Commission and at the University of Milan.

Mauro is an applied economist using empirical and quantitative methods, with experience in survey design and primary data collection. He has worked on the political economy of food standards, the economics of agricultural biotechnologies and agricultural labour. His current research interests are agricultural policies, farm productivity and technology adoption. More specifically, Mauro’s main areas of interest concern the impact of sustainable innovation and risk management practices on farm productivity, how the adoption of agricultural technologies affects farms’ sustainability and household food security and the role of mass media in influencing policy outcomes.

Mauro is currently working on the EU SUFISA project, as well as supporting other projects in the CCRI.

The event is free to attend, but it would be appreciated if you could advise cmarkey@glos.ac.uk if you intend to come along.  She can then advise you if there is any change to the programme.
