Janet Dwyer to Present at CEDRA Conference

On Monday 10th June, Janet Dwyer will be presenting at the Commission for the Economic Development of Rural Areas (CEDRA) Conference, at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth.

Janet will be presenting a paper called ‘Taking stock of EU rural development: learning from Pillar 2 experience’. With just a few days until the conference, Janet is busy finalising her presentation, and we will share this on our slideshare page.

However, Janet had the following to say regarding the conference:

“I am looking forward to the conference which comes at a very important time for rural Ireland, as policy makers are drawing up the new RDP for 2014-2020 and coping with the still-challenging economic climate for the country, as it recovers from the financial crisis.”

We need more than ever to try to learn lessons from the past decade or more of rural development experience; as we contemplate how best to meet the food security, climate and environmental challenges of the years ahead.
