Greensounds Project to take part in the Festival of Nature

The Greensounds project are taking part in the Festival of Nature, the UK’s largest free celebration of Nature, taking place in Bristol this weekend: https://www.bnhc.org.uk/festival-of-nature/

Sounds and reflections on natural soundscapes recorded by participants in Greensounds are being shared by the Forest of Avon Trust, whose dementia groups took part in the project.  They will be part of the Forest of Avon Trust’s ‘forest walkways’ they will be creating in Bristol’s Millennium Square this Sat 17th & Sun 18th June, with a range of activities & ways to get involved.

The Greensounds research team, (Dr Philip Reeder, Creative industries, UoG and Dr Alice Goodenough, CCRI), held research workshops during 2022 where participants used highly directional microphones to investigate, capture and share their understanding and experiences of green sounds.  The Greensounds project explores how relationships with and preferences for ‘natural’ or green acoustics in urban and rural environments can be discovered and captured through this participative arts-based research.
