CCRI evidence noted in Stage 1 Committee Report for new Environment Bill for Wales

In July, CCRI’s Professor Janet Dwyer and Dr Rob Berry attended the Environment and Sustainability Committee of the National Assembly for Wales to contribute evidence to the Environment (Wales) Bill, which had been introduced by Carl Sargeant AM, Minister for Natural Resources, in May.

Janet and Rob gave their evidence at Session 4 on 2 July,  together with Professor Terry Marsden, Director of the Sustainable Places Research Institute at Cardiff University. Their evidence related to natural resources, a key part of the Bill which includes provision for the planning and managing of Wales’ natural resources at a national and local level, and providing Natural Resources Wales with a general purpose linked to statutory ‘principles of sustainable management of natural resources’ defined within the bill.

The evidence provided by Janet, Rob and Terry Marsden is specifically referred to in the Environment (Wales) Bill Stage 1 Committee Report, which can be now found on the Assembly’s website.
